Can you connect me with a veteran in your archive?

Due to privacy concerns, we are unable to provide contact information for VHP participants, or to connect them with outside parties.

Thanks for your recent inquiry to the Veterans History Project.

I understand that you served with xxxx and are interested in getting in touch with him. Unfortunately, due to privacy concerns, we are not able to distribute contact information for veterans, nor do we currently have the staff capacity (and in many cases, current contact information) to forward letters or correspondence to veterans.

There are many search services (both free and for a fee) on the Internet that may assist in locating a person, but unfortunately we cannot endorse any particular service. This website, published by the Navy, may be of use: https://www.navy.mil/Resources/Frequently-Asked-Questions/

You may also have some luck in a general google search for the veteran’s name and home state and/or donating organization (in this case, listed as XXX in STATE).

I’m sorry that we can’t be of greater assistance and wish you all the best in your search for information.

Sincerely,
