Can I view the contents of Abraham Lincoln's pockets the night he was assassinated?
Unfortunately the contents of Lincoln's pockets the night that he was shot are not available for viewing. Some of these items are incredibly delicate, and the Library has photographed them so to reduce potential harm from serving these items in all but extremely rare cases. We hope that you will understand our commitment to the preservation of these materials. These objects have been photographed here.
We hope that this is helpful; If not, please feel free to submit your question to begin a conversation with a Reference Librarian.
