How can I get rid of bugs infesting my collections?
Preventive measures are the first line of defense. Keep collections areas clean, tidy, and free from food and drink residues. Maintain relative humidity between 35-50% and monitor spaces with sticky traps. See: Pest Management (Northeast Document Conservation Center).
Once infested, certain collections can be treated by freezing: Solutions--Low Temperature Treatment (MuseumPests.net)
