Can I borrow microfilm reels from the Manuscript Division on Interlibrary Loan?
The Manuscript Division will loan microfilm reels when it has custody of the original collection and a master negative of the film. Up to ten reels at a time may be borrowed for a loan period of two months. You can initiate a loan request at a library that has a loan agreement with the Library of Congress.
The Manuscript Division does not provide access to original manuscript collections through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
Please note that the Library of Congress is currently closed to the public and most staff. See the Library's Covid 19 page for more information.
