How can I get copies of items in the Manuscript Division’s collections?
Generally, researchers in the Manuscript Reading Room can photograph collection materials at their desks provided they do not use a flash or an additional light source. With the approval of reference staff, researchers may make copies on our overhead scanners or photocopiers. Personal scanners are prohibited. Users are free to download or make copies from most digital content.
Reproductions can also be ordered through the Library of Congress Duplication Services. Information regarding costs and ordering procedures can be found on their website. Be aware that some materials in our collection are protected through Copyright and others laws and conventions.
Please note that the Library of Congress is currently closed to the public and most staff. See the Library's Covid 19 page for more information.
