I'm researching court or trial procedure. Where do I start?
The Law Library of Congressoften receives requests for assistance with questions about trial preparation, e.g., discovery, witness preparation, or court rules and procedures. We have published an online research guide—geared towards the pro se (self-represented) litigant—to resources pertaining to trial preparation. Researchers can visit Trial Preparation: A Beginner’s Guide to start their research.
Established by Congress in 1832, the Law Library has a collection of over 2.65 million volumes spanning the ages and covering virtually every jurisdiction in the world.
We cannot provide legal advice, interpretation, or analysis which could be interpreted as the practice of law; extensive bibliographies or legislative histories; or answers for student homework assignments.
