I'm looking for resources on laws related to gender identity or sexual orientation. Where do I start?

While the legal issues surrounding gender identity and sexual orientation are frequently talked about as if they fall into a singular category, they involve multiple areas of law, including family law, employment law, immigration law, juvenile law, tax law, and health law, among many others. Thus, it can be difficult to find resources that touch on all or most of these areas.

The Law Library of Congress has published an online research guide intending to introduce beginner researchers to legal resources on the topics of gender identity and sexual orientation. Researchers can visit LGBTQ+ Legal Resources: A Beginner’s Guide to start their research.
