I am looking for a specific article, chapter, report, proceeding...

I have the citation. Can you help me track it down, please?

If you have found a citation for an article while doing your research, there's an easy way to track it down and see if we have access to it.

When you have a specific citation you are looking for, the easiest thing to do is use our "Find it" tool, "Find it at LC" to track down the citation for you.

Clicking on that will bring you to a search form, where you can type in the title of your journal, newspaper, conference proceeding etc. in the appropriate spot and any other applicable information, then search. You'll also see there are option to search for the citation by ISSN, DOI, PubMedID, and more.

After searching, you should then be brought to a results page. If the article is covered within our subscriptions, it should bring you to where you can access the full-text or to the journal's homepage. If the article is not available, you then have options to try to find the journal in print through the catalog

If taken to the journal's homepage, you can then drill down to the year-volume/issue-page number of the article you are searching for. When you find your article you will be given full-text options for a fulltext or PDF download.

Note: the fulltext to these citations can only be accessed while onsite via the library's subscriptions.

What does Find it at LC do?

It's an OpenURL link resolver that helps you find the full text of articles. When doing research, you often find a citation or maybe an abstract, of an article in a database but the text of the article isn’t included. The Find it at LC tool will let you check all the other library full text resources to see if you can get the article either in a different database or in the library’s print or microform periodicals.
