Can I access databases from home?
Although the Library's subscription databases and most licensed/copyrighted materials are available to onsite users only, you can access many other resources remotely. Below is a selection. You don't need a library card to use these!
Digital Collections: Curated sets of digitized items--such as books, photos, manuscripts, maps, audio recordings, and more--organized thematically by format, subject, time period, or source. One popular digital collection is Chronicling America where you can view digitized historical newspapers.
Research Guides: Helpful entry points to the collections, providing topic overviews, recommended resources, and search tips and strategies.
Online Catalog, Finding Aids, Prints & Photographs Online Catalog: Discovery tools to help you find out what is in the Library.
Blogs: Posts written by individual Library staff members and occasional guest authors to share information about resources from the Library.
Courses & Workshops: Recordings of past events, including lectures, book talks, topical presentations, and research orientations.
Education Resources: Instructional materials and professional development resources to support teachers' and students' use of primary sources from the Library.
Data for Exploration: Free-to-use exploratory data packages.
