Yes! All of our reading rooms and reference centers are free and open to the public, though hours of operation and age limits may vary from room to room. To use any of our reading rooms, you must first get your Reader Identification Card at one of the Library's reader registration stations. If you are not old enough to get one you can tour the Main Reading Room during certain days and times.
We have 20 reading rooms and reference centers. If you know which reading room contains collections useful for your research or area of interest, you may wish to contact that reading room or research center to ask about their access policies. If you are not sure which research center may be able to assist you, feel free to submit a question to the Ask a Librarian "Ask a General Question" form.
