Will the Library of Congress provide cataloging for my self-published book?

No. The Library does not provide classification, subject analysis, or other bibliographic description for books except as part of the standard cataloging process.

Publications are selected for bibliographic cataloging according to guidelines developed by Library of Congress managers in the Acquisitions and Bibliographic Access Directorate and the Collection Development Office in accordance with a series of Collections Policy Statements.

Books submitted to the U.S. Copyright Office, either for copyright registration or in fulfillment of mandatory deposit, are reviewed by the Library of Congress selection officers for inclusion in the Library's collections.
